New Buffalo, Michigan - The Beach - Old Farm House

May 26th -Had a pretty incredible day (again). Since the weather was so nice, my Sister (Karen) and I had set up a date to head to the beach in New Buffalo, Michigan. However, before we left, I took this beautiful picture, which is the view my Brother (Dave) and Sister-in-Law (Beth) have from their back deck. The view is of Pine Lake in my hometown of LaPorte, Indiana.

Tom's VIP limo service picked up Karen, but she felt she should drive, rather than be driven, so she hopped behind the wheel.....well....that might be a small exaggeration of the truth. It was probably more like...I went to pick her up...asked her to get behind the wheel so I could get a picture of her at their home...then I drove. (But I like the first version better!)

After completing a few appointments in town, we headed up to New Buffalo and the beach, which is on Lake Michigan. As you can tell, we had some fun with the camera.

We decided to get some fun pictures by the Light House and the shorelines.

Karen did notice that the Light House appeared slightly tilted, so she tried to straigten it up. Not sure if it worked, but she gave it her best!

I was then able to get a few shots of the local movie star. I'm so lucky to have such beautiful Sisters, because it sure makes it "appear" that I can actually take a few good pictures.

Unfortunately, Karen had to work for hours to get a couple shots of me (before I looked fair). LOL

After our time at the beach, we went to a favorite local restaurant, called Redimax. They serve some of the best-tasting hamburgers I've ever had. - - - We then went to the "Four Winds" casino...and we found out how they came up with the name. When we left, we felt like our money had been taken away by the 4 winds. Actually we didn't do to bad, but we did make the Michigan economy better. - - - After the casino stop, we decided to stop and get some pictures of the 80 acre farm where we were raised. While there've been some improvements to place, the barn looks similar to the way it did, and the house looks somewhat similar to the way it did back in the 60s. - - - The first two pictures show the view while driving down a road near our home, and the road sign shows the the intersection where we used to turn (when coming from town). (We lived on 700 North).

The house (left)....and the barn (right)....but I'll bet everyone could tell that from the pictures.

After getting back to LaPorte, we stopped for some wings and a drink at Buffalo Wild Wings. The servers were very friendly and nice, but not nearly as nice as those at our favorite hangout (BWWs) in Colorado Springs.
