May 23rd - I'm nearing my last day at the U.P. in Michigan, and as with all my stops, I have VERY mixed feelings. I've totally enjoyed myself and would like to stay, but I also know other adventures, family and friends are waiting at my next stop. - - - While Ralph had no idea I took the following 2 pictures, I think the logo summarized the way I feel about the whole trip so far.
Although I provided some earlier pictures of Bond Lake Flowage, the reason the water was so low at the present time is because the Dam is being rebuilt. To do that work, water had to be drained. The first 2 pictures show the work being done.
This makes the 3rd day Ralph and I went to Duck Lake. While we didn't end up catching any big fish, we certainly had non-stop catching and fun. I'm still amazed at how a 1" fish can swallow a hook almost as big as the fish itself. Oh well...big appetite I guess. - - - The following show a few of the fish we caught the last day. - - - The first picture is of a nice-size bluegill.
