Final Day of Travel in Canada - Then Enter the USA

Sorry for the delayed entries. I haven't forgot or got too busy, where I'm staying has no computer internet access, so I just kept on making the entries; updating my pictures; then decided to find an area to make the uploads. - - - - - - - May 13th - The pictures below show some of the last 50 miles of scenery I saw leaving Canada, then some of the first items I saw (during about the 1st 100 miles) after getting back into the USA. I was fortunate enough to have unseasonably warm and enjoyable weather during my entire stay in Canada...so I thank ALL my friends for arranging that.

Sault Saint Marie was the last city I drove through as I prepared to leave Canada. As you can see, the rain started to welcome me to the USA. - - - Actually, once I got to, then through the border, I was thankful for the rain as it appeared to make the crossing go much more smoothly...as it was totally uneventful.

This is the view I had as I crossed the bridge that led to the United States.

Once crossing into Michigan, the weather eased up for a little while and I thought I'd stop in Munising and take the boat tour to "Pictured Rocks." Unfortunately, my timing was off by just over a day, as the cruises did not start until the 15th. However, I still got some pictures near the cruise location to show a memorial, and some of the boats used for the cruises.

While I'm not sure of the significance of this lighthouse, I found it interesting that is simply in someone's back yard in Munising.

This is just of view of Lake Superior...still in Munising.

Cute sign in Munising.

After departing Munising, I found the scenery absolutely beautiful.

The last night before I arrived at my Sister's (Karen) and Brother-in-Law's (Ralph) cabin, I decided to enjoy "Christmas" in May...so I stayed the night in a quaint little hotel in town.

Off to the cabin tomorrow.
