Dream Machines and Halifax, Nova Scotia Harbor Trip

May 9th - Before we took some time to explore more of Halifax, Jason, Natacha and I decided to get some pictures of the American Dream Machines.

On the right below, Jason and Natacha were nice enough to let me park the Vette in their Harley garage. While you could sense the tension between the vehicles, all worked out well.

After the pictures of the vehicles, we headed off to Halifax's seaport area. While there, we saw the ship Jason used to work on when at sea. He's now performing inspections on it and helping ensure it's sea-worthy.

While at the seaport, we took this photo of the Samuel Cunard statue...who is known for a variety of shipping items and the cruise line.

Here's Jason's ship.

Me by one of the tugboats in the harbor.
These are memorials to people lost at sea.

Jason and Tom with Theodore Tugboat. He was used in a children's show.

A picture of the old town tower, as seen from the seaport.

While walking around the harbor, we decided to take the tour of the Maritime Museum that had numerous items related to sea disasters, the Titanic, and the Halifax disaster where 2 ships collided and one was loaded with munitions. The explosion leveled the seaport.
A couple of old items on display included one of the older lighthouse lights, and one of the mines used to help protect the harbor.

Here are 2 pictures of the Halifax harbor. The one on the left shows just how busy the port could be...which contributed to the disaster of 2 ships colliding. The picture on the right was taken just moments before the actual explosion. It is believed that everyone pictured perished when explosion happened.
Items from the Titanic are on display as Halifax helped in the recovery effort of bodies and items from the Titanic.

Since "no trip to Halifax would be complete without a Beaver Tail," I was convinced I needed to have one. Yummmmm, they were good...but VERY messy.

After having the Beaver Tail, we needed something to wash it down, so we went to the Old Triangle Irish pub. While the food and drink were excellent, the pub also had some dancers and musicians that made for some outstanding entertainment.
