Problem With Car While Arriving in Kansas City

Well, more details about the problem I experienced. - - - As I entered Kansas City, there was a lot of road construction, and it was obvious why the construction was needed. I think I hit 100s, if not 1000s of potholes. I wanted to slow down, especially with the heavy rain. However, there was SO much traffic being forced into 2 lanes versus the normal 4 lanes, that there were plenty of crazy drivers that thought the conditions meant to drive faster. Anyway....with about 5 miles to go to get to my hotel, I hit one pothole that felt like I'd driven into the Grand Canyon. Then, moments after hitting the hole, my wipers stopped working. Needless to say, it was not very fun trying to drive in pouring rain, with no wipers. Thank goodness Rik (from the Corvette Center in Colorado) had recommended that I clean the windshield with RainX (just in case something like this happened). Rik's suggestion worked well as the water beaded up quickly, but it still was amazingly difficult to see much of anything. After making it to the hotel, I contacted Rik and asked if he knew anyone that might have a wiper motor. He gave me a contact, but unfortunately, it was in St Louis (my next stop). I was stressed to say the least! - - - However, after staying a 2nd night in KC, the weather cleared up and I was able to get to St Louis without needing my wipers. After a few phone calls, I ended up getting a used motor from a 2nd contact, but I needed to install the motor myself. - - - Well, with the help of my Nephew (Jon W), I was able to get the motor installed and now have wipers. - - - We did make it to the NCAA Midwest Regional Semi-Final Games on the 26th and got to see two great games. We'll be seeing the Championship game on Sunday, then, after the game, we'll head over to Indianapolis. Not that anyone really wants to see me installing the wiper motor, but I thought I'd add a couple pictures of the fun task. - - - More about the stay in St Louis on my next entry. Later....
Fun to get at the wiper motor. (NOT...)

Success. Got the motor in; bolted in; and it works. (Nice gut shot Jon.)

  2. Frank - I see you're continuing to practice for your next career as a comedian. I'm confident that 5 or 6 more years will get you more funny! Ha Ha

Not sure what you're talking about regarding the naps. I normally don't get up before Noon anymore, so I certainly don't need an afternoon nap.
